The Gromfest is a series of three competitions for young skiers and snowboarders aged 6-12 years. The aim of Gromfest is for the young competitors to have fun whilst boosting their snow skills. New this year is a freeride camp. The camp consists of two 2hr coaching sessions in which skiers will spend time with experienced big mountain skiers and snowboarders. Judging criteria will be covered along with line selection and skiing techniques. Please regiser your interest at hq@chillout.co.nz. The camp costs $50 and is payable in advance via bank deposit, credit-card or on the day in cash.
The freeride competition will be held on Sunday 24th with free entry to all those wishing to compete.

The Armada crew are heading to Porters and hitting the park with a bag full of tricks and tips for all those keen to lean from some of the best in the business.
For those that don’t know a ski rogaine is an orienteering event where find your way to the controls marked on the map provided. If you don’t know what orienteering is…you should try it! It’s like a treasure hunt using a stylised map with controls marked on it. The controls are scattered about the ski field and buildings. The amount of points that can be collected varies between controls. The aim is to visit as many controls and collect as many points possible in the time allowed (1 hour). Controls can be visited in any order within the hour but you lose points very quickly for arriving back after the hour is up.
