During the winter season there are events on at the Ski Selwyn Six from opening day right through to closing weekends.  Many events warrant at least a one night stay on or near the mountains so be sure to book in early. Please contact the ski areas directly for bookings.

Celebrating 90 years of fun in the snow, dig out your retro ski gear, grandad’s old winter woollies or your favourite fluro 80’s ski onesie.

A fun day as always on the mountain at Cheeseman with face painting, activities and games from 10.00am and throughout the day to keep the s (BIG and little!) entertained. Be sure to strut your stuff on the Day Lodge Deck at 2pm with prizes for best dressed.

These guys no longer fall in to the up and coming category – they’re grand. While Saturday (24th) is now fully booked, don’t miss this Sunday session… ($20 non members, $10 TBSC Members)

The Eastern + Wine tasting + SPLITN2 ENDURO

This day just got bigger.

Get your legs trained for this one. Now a classic at Temple Basin, the Enduro consists of riding the tows, hiking, and skiing. Points are awarded for each lap skied at our Downhill tow, but the biggest points are awarded for a full lap completed to col-to-nowhere… That’s 2 lifts and 2 separate hikes, plus a long ski descent. There will be spot prizes and a grand prize for the winner.

Later in the evening the classic combination of tipples and tunes returns. The Eastern are back again for another round, there is no cover charge for this gig. Wine tasting is limited to 30 winos, tickets $20.

SplitFest at Temple Basin

Head up and hang out with like-minded backcountry enthusiasts. Whether you’re a skier or a rider, there will be demos, courses and tips, great riding (Temple Basin always gets hit this time of year!), like minded people and lots of new friends! Check out the SplitFest website for more info.

5-8 September

Whisky Tasting presented by Whisky Galore

New Zealand’s finest whisky connoisseurs head up the mountain with a few special bottles to try. There is a $30 surcharge for this event to cover the costs, this will include 6 drams and associated tasting notes. Guaranteed to learn something new about the fine world of single malt whisky.

Mt Olympus Curling Day 2019

The world famous in Canterbury (and beyond) Mt Olympus Curling Day for 2019 is hoping to run Saturday 24th August, weather and ice rink permitting. Keep an eye out on Facebook pages for more info. As the date has been altered, there is time to potentially arrange a helicopter.
Register your interest in a Helicopter taxi from the Bottom Hut to the curling tarn and back on the day (subject to interest and weather).
